Sue Cutts came into the nursing profession at the age of 17. Having worked for a number of different homes starting off as a carer and progressing her way through to registered manager, she has been working for the Czajka Care Group since January 2008.

“I’ve worked in the care profession since I was 17. I gradually got all the qualifications and experience I needed and I become a registered manager in 2006.”

“I joined the Czajka Care Group in January 2008 to become registered manager at Beanlands Nursing home and I’m just so happy that I made the right choice. The residents make the job so worthwhile-knowing that they’re happy and their families have peace of mind is just so rewarding.”

“The staff whether it’s the laundry and kitchen staff, care assistants, ground and maintenance staff or administrative staff were (and continue to be) so welcoming, well trained and dedicated to their work.”

“I’ve been lucky to work with some great people in the past-mainly Andrew and Rosemary Makin (previous owners of Norwood House, Sue’s first Management role) but I’d kept on hearing great things about the Czajka Care Group-especially from the owners. When they sold the home-I didn’t want to work for just anyone, I wanted to join a group that was as deeply passionate and committed to caring for older and frail people as I am-I know I made the right choice.”

Tracey Hinchliffe joined the Czajka Care Group as a Care Assistant in 1995 at the age of 17 years old. She received her NVQ Levels 3 and NVQ Assors in 2005 and 2007 respectively while working for the group. She is now a Senior Carer and was made events coordinator in 2008.

“When I was young I always wanted to look after people, so going into care seemed so natural. I was lucky enough to come to work for the Czajka Care Group when I was 17 years old and make that a reality. It was great because they never left anything to chance and made sure that we had all the training we needed to do the job.”

“Because we make time for the residents-we get to know them really well so we get a real rapport with them which makes for some wicked banter. The staff are brilliant too when I started I was given lots of advice and training which I’m more than happy to pass on to new people.”

“Probably the best part of my job is doing the events, I’m always going around the residents asking them if they want anything in particular to do-some times it’s just to have a conversation or play a game of cards, other times it’s to go to a show or the theatre. Either way we end up having a great laugh and I get to do things that I wouldn’t normally have thought of doing-which is great!”

“I want to stay with the group for as long as possible and work my way up to management. I can’t see myself wanting to work for anyone else.
